At BASI Pilates Academy, Tacoma our goal is to change lives through the art and science of Pilates. We are a full-service Pilates studio offering Pilates classes, private sessions, and semi-private sessions to our local community. We also proudly offer year-round BASI Pilates teacher training programs and continuing education for Pilates instructors.
 With a clean, welcoming environment and friendly staff, BASI Pilates Academy, Tacoma is the perfect place for new clients to achieve their fitness goals, whether to gain more core strength, reduce back pain, improve athletic performance, and retrain post-injury, or simply stay pain-free.

Because our studio serves as an education center for Pilates professionals, our team of high-caliber instructors ranges in experience level from apprentice through senior instructors. Our instructors have gone through the BASI Pilates teacher training program and teach consistently thorough, well-rounded sessions to ensure our clients receive a balanced, full-body workout.

Comprehensive Teacher Training Program

Learn to teach up to advanced-level clients on the full suite of Pilates equipment.

The BASI Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training Program gives students in-depth knowledge of Pilates theory, exercises, and skills to teach up to advanced-level clients on the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, F2 Spine Corrector, F2 Arm Chair, Ped-a-Pul, Mat, and other auxiliary apparatus.Graduates of the Comprehensive Program are well-equipped for a successful, enduring career in the Pilates industry and are qualified to take the exam to become a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT).

The Mat Program
At BASI we regard Pilates Mat work as the “crown jewel” of Pilates.The Pilates Mat Teacher Training Program is the perfect vehicle for learning the principles of the Pilates Method. It is affordable, easy to integrate into different settings, and a great way to introduce people to Pilates.

Policies/Scheduling a Session

Equipment sessions are by appointment. Mat sessions are open for drop-in.

Cancellation Policy

24-hour advance notice is required for cancellation of private lesson appointments or Reformer classes. You will be charged for missed appointments. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Attending Sessions

Be prepared to exercise barefoot or in socks. Wear comfortable clothing: tee-shirt and shorts or leggings, or a leotard. Please refrain from eating heavily at least two hours before your session. For others' comfort, please do not wear heavy perfume in class.
